Natural Cataclysmic Events / Tragedy or Triumph?
If today there was no longer in Creation the fighting instinct which so many indolent people call cruel, the World of Matter would already long ago have been in a state of rottenness and disintegration. This instinct has a preserving effect on the body and soul. It is certainly not destructive, although it may appear so on the surface! Otherwise there would no longer be anything left to keep this sluggish World of Gross Matter in motion, and consequently in good health and vigor, since man, through his errors, has so wantonly diverted the quickening effects of the all-pervading spiritual power actually destined for this purpose, so that it cannot act in the way it really should! If man had not failed so miserably to carry out the task for which he was destined, then much, everything, would look different today! Neither would the so- called "fight" have taken on the form in which it shows itself at present! The fighting instinct would have been ennobled, spiritualized by the upward surging will of man. Its original uncouth effect, instead of increasing as it does now, would gradually have changed under the right spiritual influence and become a united, cheerful incentive to help one another forward, which would require the same energy as the most violent struggle. But with this difference, that a struggle is followed by exhaustion, while in mutually helping one another a great increase in energy would be the consequence!

The Northern Hemisphere is gripped by record cold temperatures wiping out millions of dollars in food crops and claiming scores of lives! 7.2 magnitude earthquakes hits Solomon Islands causing Tsunamis and affecting thousands! 6.5 magnitude earthquake strikes of the coast of California! Tajikistan earthquakes leave 20,000 homeless. Flood kills scores in Brazil. Swiss avalanche death toll rises. Philippines: Mayon volcano edges closer to eruption, forcing the evacuation of tens of thousands. Over 100,000 feared dead in 7.0 magnitude earthquake in Haiti, the largest incident in Haiti in over two centuries! All these news headlines appeared within the first two weeks of 2010! Who amongst us still doubts the significant intensification in the activities of nature?
With a determination and intensification never before experienced, the forces of nature have become more energized! The debate rages..."Global warming" "Climate Change", now perhaps "Global Freezing?" The terms are continuously evolving as the disasters continue to mount. Scientists scramble to explain this phenomenon with ready-made Mathematical theories and formulas, theories which usually ignore the natural mobility of Creation. Science only gathers the effects of the causes which is limited to time and space and often leaves room for significant gaps in the presentations of these theories which can be observed with a little effort. As a result, soon after a theory is quickly erected, it comes crashing down even more expediently.
A preserving effect on body and soul! Reflect for a moment. Can you compare the strength of a plant that has been raised in a green house to a plant grown in the open and is constantly exposed to all the forces of nature? Indeed the fruits they bear even taste much different. Can you compare the strength, agility and psychic alertness of a lion that was raised in a zoo to a lion in the wild? The former would not last very long in the wilderness. Picture a spoiled child versus a child that has retained childlike qualities and still shows respect and gratitude. What is the difference? How does a child become spoiled and another remains unspoiled? We can observe a hundred more examples in nature and in our surroundings. In every case, we will find that where mobility is lacking, the consequences are always stagnation, retrogression and ultimately disintegration! This occurs without exception whether in matter, plant, animal or within man himself. Indeed, all that exist is subject to this Law of Motion and the strict order in Creation.
In the study of Physics, Inertia is the resistance of any physical object to a change in its state of motion. The word inertia has its roots in the Latin word "iners", meaning idle, or lazy. The "First Law of Motion" as described by Isaac Newton simply expresses that an object that is not subject to any net external force moves at a constant velocity. In even simpler terms, inertia means that an object will always continue moving at its current speed and in its current direction until some force causes its speed or direction to change. This would include an object that is not in motion (velocity = zero), which will remain at rest until some force causes it to move. It’s easier to understand that a stationary object would not move unless subject to a net external force, but to think that an object will continue to move indefinitely after being initially set in motion seems to violate everyday experience. For example, a hockey puck sliding along ice does not travel indefinitely; rather, it slows and eventually comes to a stop. According to Newton's first law, the puck comes to a stop because of a net external force applied in the direction opposite to its motion. This net external force can be frictional force between the puck and the ice, frictional force between the puck and the air as well as the force exerted by gravity. So a puck that was initially set in motion by a force will gradually come to a halt unless it is compelled to constant movement through renewed external forces.
Since this Law is Universal and applicable to all things, then similarly the animating energy contained in man that was set in motion by an initial Force and has failed to keep in constant activity will gradually come to a halt (stagnation) which implies immediate retrogression and ultimate disintegration.....unless a net external force is applied before disintegration sets in! This Law of Motion can be applied both to man’s physical (transient) life and also to his inner (more permanent) life i.e., to body and soul! For most people on earth their ultimate goal is to accumulate as much material as possible in order to live a life of comfort and relaxation! Indeed, this is man’s approach to everything. So intent is man on this material accumulation and comfort that all else falls by the way side, everything is directed towards the material. No other thought enters his mind until he has to face a cataclysmic event personally, be it in his health, finances, family or in nature. Before then, these news headlines are simply relegated to small talk and cocktail conversation. An initial inner urging arises and a temporary awakening sometimes occurs as a result of these graphic news reports...but only temporary. As long as man has not been confronted with a personal challenge, he reverts to his material striving, yet again burying this inner warning voice. According to the Law of Movement, if the inner life of man is not revived and kept in pace with the prevailing external forces, then this inertia must ultimately lead to an inner retrogression and ultimately to disintegration! This imbalance also has far reaching implications as regards to the outer body as well. The consequence being various diseases and ailments of the physical body!
A state of inertia prevails on earth and disharmony is felt everywhere! A cataclysmic event can serve as a strong "wake up" call and help for those that can muster up enough courage and determination to revive and maintain a connection with the upward striving spirituality. Then man may seek to fulfill his real purpose and task in life....to discover and adhere to the Laws that permeate Creation which as a consequence can only bring about furthering values and harmony in everything! The work In The Light of Truth – The Grail Message by Abd-ru-shin is a help towards this discovery and conveys to the reader an insight into the Laws that provide a strict order in Creation. It is then left to every individual reader’s attentiveness and open mindedness as to the value they can draw from this Work.
