Board members for the Global Alternative Energy Foundation contribute expertise in the educational, business, and technical aspects of alternative energy. The board is mandated to position the organization’s strategic direction.

UZOCHUKWU CHIMA, Chairman, GAEF
Mr. Chima has almost two decades of experience as an advisor to numerous government agencies and corporations worldwide. His professional career includes energy trading and analysis, institutional banking, government advisory and management of over a billion dollars in private equity funds. He is a founder and director of the Institute of Policy and Economic Development (IPED) and Managing Director of Lumen Industries, LLC. an operating and development firm with an emphasis on Energy and Basic Material assets. Mr. Chima is currently the Chairman of the Global Alternative Energy Foundation (GAEF). Mr. Chima attended Oxbridge College, graduating with degrees in economics and mathematics.

DR. RUSSELL READ, Ph.D., CFA, C Change Investments
Russell Read is Managing Partner and Chairman of C Change Investments, LLC, a Cambridge, Massachusetts-based investment company focused on commercializing game-changing technologies involving energy and materials. Prior to launching C Change, Dr. Read served as Chief Investment Officer of the California Public Employees’ Retirement System where he launched their inflation-linked asset class including commodities, timberland, infrastructure and internationalized and expanded their natural resource and green investment programs in private equity and real estate. Dr. Read was also a pioneer in introducing commodities and natural resource investment as a complement to stock and bond investments in the 1990s through his work with OppenheimerFunds, Scudder, and Deutschebank Investments. He is also a governor of the New York Academy of Sciences. Dr. Read received his Ph.D. in Political Economy from Stanford University focusing on the roles of politics and natural resources on economic development and his M.B.A. in Finance/International Business and undergraduate degree in Statistics from the University of Chicago. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA).

PROF. DR. INGRID HILGER, Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology, University Hospital Jena, Germany
Dr. Hilger currently serves as Head of the Department "Experimental Radiology" at University Hospital. After studying biology at Christian Albrecht University Kiel, Germany, Dr. Hilger went on study biochemistry at Georg-August University in Göttingen, and received a doctorate from the Institute of Experimental Pathology, Medical School. Post doctorate studies included research in nanotechnology, biomedicine, biophysics at the Institute of Diagnostic and Interventional Radiology of Friedrich Schiller University. Dr. Hilger is a full professor of experimental radiology and received the Walter Friedrich Award in 2003.

DR. G. KALU IDIKA KALU, Chairman, Institute for Policy and Economic Development
Dr. Kalu holds a doctorate degree in Economic Development and Public Finance (UW – Madison) and is a Yale Stimson Fellow. Over the past 4 decades, Dr. Kalu’s work in the field of economic policy and development planning has spanned many regions in East Asia and Africa. He has contributed significantly to micro and macro-economic work on the economies of Japan, Korea, Taiwan, and Hong Kong. As a former presidential candidate (2003), Dr. Kalu also continues to be proactive in the Nigerian political arena, and frequently engages in the formulation of policy at both the state and federal levels.
